Four Years Ago Today

Four years ago today, many of us were at the Carver Arena in Peoria supporting our boys basketball team in the IHSA State Basketball final. When we got to Peoria, after just about everything going right for us throughout the state tournament, the game outcomes were not what we hoped for at the State Final. Thus the story of the final games was best described by the towel over Floris Hondmann's '13 face in this picture.

It was a pinnacle moment for our athletic program, though, as it reflected what some had said would be impossible to do -- to get a basketball team to the state final from North Shore. And the accomplishemt has inspired others since to raise the bar in our community for themselves.
