As this is a five day running week today's workout is a cross training or rest day.
One of my duties as part of living on campus is doing security rounds. Every season brings its beautiful views of the campus. In July and early August though, my favorite view is looking out on the fields and thinking about what will happen over the next few months for our school.
July and early August are the only times of the year when the grass is green and there are no lines yet down. Although many of our students are preparing for the fall season, the green empty fields remind me of the blank page that will soon be filled up with memorable stories.
That's particularly coincidental today as it is Kathy and my 31st wedding anniversary. Back on this day in 1993, our marriage was a blank page. Its filled up with memories now. But every year brings renewal for another year just like a new school year.
