Cross Country Season Extends Another Week

Senior Kayla Robinson and Freshman Anna Brennan were 3rd and 4th at IHSA Regional this weekend
The first step in the state series for boys and girls cross country is the Regional Cross Country Meet. There are 15 Regionals that took place this past Saturday which feed into 5 Sectionals. North Shore Country Day Cross Country competed in the Luther North Regional which took place at Labagh Woods Forest Preserve.

The Raider Girls finished 2nd to Willows Academy and the Raider Boys finished 3rd to DePaul College Prep (formerly Gordon Tech) and Northridge Prep. The highest a North Shore Country Day Cross Country team had ever finished at Regionals was 3rd so the Girls team established a new standard. The combined finish of the boys and the girls was the highest ever and both teams had their lowest point total (like in golf, low is good in Cross Country) in school history.

Kayla Robinson and Anna Brennan were all Regional with their 3rd and 4th place finishes in the girls race.

The Cross Country Teams will compete next at the Lisle Sectional on Saturday November 1st. There they will have a chance to see if they can be the first teams ever to qualify for the State Cross Country Championship.
