Tonight our Varsity Girls Basketball team plays in the semi-finals of the IHSA Girls Basketball Regional Tournament. The game will be at 7:30 pm at Chicagoland Jewish High School in Deerfield. We will play the host school. If we win, we advance to the finals of the Regional on Thursday night also at Chicagoland Jewish High School at 7:30. The winner of the Regional advances to the Sectional Tournament next week hosted by Westminster Christian School in Elgin. Those games are on Tuesday and Thursday next week. The winner of the Sectional advances to the DeKalb Super Sectional on Monday February 18th. The winner of the Super Sectional advances to the State Finals in Normal Illinois at Redbird Arena. That is the path to the State Championship.

The sad thing about Basketball is that every team but one ends their season on a loss. But regardless of the outcomes of these games, this is an exciting time of year. Favorites do not always win. Teams who may have struggled in the season get on a roll in the tournament and win some games unexpectedly. The road to Redbird Arena is a long one but it starts tonight.
