Here is my Homecoming Edition of Five Reads for Friday. It will be a busy weekend but these reads are great.
There are a couple of reads that I could say are my #1 this week. So it was tough. But this article by Steve Magness and Brad Stulberg is awesome. Patience used to be a principle of teaching and coaching. It seems to have been forgotten. This article is a good reminder.

Performance, Patience, and Purpose -- Peak Performance Issue #12
I think a lot about gear. There is probably no area of sports that more people beyond the athletic office think about at North Shore too than gear. I have mixed feelings on the issue of gear because sometimes it feels like gear is so important that it might trump other issues in athletics like quality coaching. I have had people tell me new uniforms are worth 2 more wins every year. Maybe its me but I don't like that. That being said, gear is really important. Read this article to find out why.
Brad Stulberg gets two articles on this weeks list. FYI, he is worth a follow on twitter if you want to learn about high performance.
Energy -- it's important!
There are all sorts of reasons why I like this short post on reputation. Is it just me or is reputation another concept like patience that seems forgotten today.
