Martin Luther King Day and Youth Sport Coaching

To me MLK Day is a day about potential -- both realized and unrealized in our nation. Dr. Martin Luther King famously speaks of having a dream. And to me that dream is about the potential of our nation.

King's message is a powerful one for coaches too. Every day we are faced with potential in front of us. The potential of the kids we coach. How are we going to help them fulfill their potential and their dreams? So today I am reflecting on many of the words of Dr. King, and thinking about how I can continue to get better at helping those I coach and teams I influence realize their potential.
