Raider Varsity Girls Basketball Wins IHSA Regional

For only the second time in school history, the Raider Girls Basketball team won an IHSA Regional. They defeated Ida Crown 42-40 for the title. Ida Crown had defeated the Raiders by 17 during the regular season.

The game was tight throughout, tied 11-11 at halftime and then 26-26 after three quarters. Scoring really took off in the fourth quarter as sophomore Annie Kroll hit a number of 3-point shots. Ida Crown though was not going away and was up 38-35 with 2:26 to go. With under 2 minutes to go, though, the Raiders took the lead 39-38 and never gave it up from that point on withstanding a strong effort in the last few seconds by Ida Crown Aces.
