The Raiders opened up the post season last night with a 66-29 victory over Rickover Naval Academy. That advances them to the Regional final on Friday night at Northridge Prep vs. the host school at 7:30 pm.
Never pressed, North Shore's Austin Curren scored off the opening tip to take 2-0 lead. Rickover came down the court and hit a 3 point shot to take their only lead of the night. The Raiders led at the quarter 18-7, at the half 35-11, at the end of the 3rd quarter 53-23 and finished 66-29 with all of the starter sitting most of the 4th quarter.
Curren finished with 21 points. Riley Hall had 17 and Jaime Swimmer was also in double figures.
That creates the anticipated match-up between North Shore and Northridge Prep. Northridge Prep has been consistent all season losing in conference only to U-High. The Raiders have lost to Northridge twice this year. The first time on January 9th at Northridge in a close game in which the Raiders had the lead with a minute to go but lost down the stretch. Northridge also beat the Raiders on February 1st at North Shore with our Raiders playing a poor first quarter they never could get over.
Northridge seems to be our Regional opponent in a number of sports with the Soccer team defeating them in an extremely exciting final game this fall. Most people expect Friday to be very exciting too.
A couple reminders. There is a charge to get into the game. It is $4 and it is CASH only. Tipoff is at 7:30 pm. Hope to see you there.
