Landfill Harmonics

Saturday morning for me when I was in my teens always meant Orchestra rehearsal. That was kind of tough as I grew older because I wanted to be more involved in sports. But I started playing the cello when I was 8 and by my teens had invested so much in it, I did not want to give it up. So I went to Orchestra rehearsal at the Peabody Conservatory of Music in downtown Baltimore on Saturday mornings. A number of the people in that Orchestra are now professional musicians. They were the first people who taught me what real talent and commitment looks like. That lesson has served me well despite having to miss some sporting events in high school.

I saw this video on Daniel Coyle's blog The Talent Code yesterday. It is a trailer for an upcoming movie called Landfill Harmonics. I thought I would post it today -- Saturday -- because for me Saturday reminds me of Orchestra rehearsal. The film is an incredible story.

As Coyle says the film also reminds us that talent is everywhere.
